Job Description

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting a Project Manager on behalf of a leading UK construction contractor to lead building projects across the East Midlands region. The role involves managing projects from acceptance through to completion, ensuring safe, high‑quality and commercially successful delivery while maintaining strong client relationships.

The Role

You will oversee all operational, commercial and safety aspects of your project, acting as the main point of contact for clients, consultants and subcontractors. You will lead the site team, manage programme and productivity, ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, and deliver a snag‑free handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from award to completion, ensuring programme, quality, safety and cost targets are met
  • Liaise with clients, design teams and internal commercial staff
  • Support financial reporting by providing accurate project information
  • Develop and monitor the construction programme
  • Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments and project safety documentation
  • Fulfil Principal Contractor duties under CDM Regulations
  • Lead and support site teams, ensuring high productivity and effective labour resourcing
  • Coordinate material procurement and design information release
  • Plan daily operations and resolve site issues
  • Chair and minute subcontractor meetings
  • Produce project reports and manage all project correspondence
  • Monitor quality and deliver a snag‑free building
  • Assist in selecting subcontractors and defining scopes of work
  • Identify and escalate contractual or delivery risks

About You

  • SMSTS (5‑day), First Aid at Work, Fire Marshal certification
  • CSCS Manager’s Card
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage direct labour and subcontractors
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety and CDM Regulations
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Professional, accountable, collaborative and solutions‑focused
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and lead by example

Remuneration & Package

  • £65,000 - £80,000 DOE + car/car allowance
