In this role you will lead and coordinate the design process from pre‑construction through delivery, ensuring buildable, compliant and cost‑effective solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, using strong architectural and technical expertise to drive quality, programme certainty and risk reduction.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage the full design process from tender stage through construction, ensuring information is delivered in line with programme, budget and client requirements.
• Review architectural, structural and MEP designs for buildability, compliance, coordination and value engineering opportunities.
• Develop and maintain design responsibility matrices, design programmes and information release schedules.
• Ensure all design information complies with Building Regulations, planning conditions, fire strategy, sustainability requirements and sector‑specific standards.
• Coordinate consultant and subcontractor design packages, ensuring timely delivery and integration into the main design.
• Manage design risk registers, identifying issues early and driving resolution before they impact site operations.

• Ability to interrogate drawings, specifications and technical details across all disciplines.

This role is working for a regional business unit who uphold the highest standards & structured tier 1 processes. They have a cohesive team who all share a passion & interest for their work. Over the past few decades they have successfully delivered countless projects across North of England.

Project: £50m road improvement for a local authority client. Consisting of 9 junction improvements, new roundabouts, road widening, drainage, structures and all associated general civils.

Duration: The project is running for the next 2+ years and for the right Construction Manager this role could see it through its entirety and further if workload allows.

Duties/Responsibilities include:

• Management of Site Agent & team to ensure smooth daily running of site
• Assist Contracts Manager
• Construction Phase Plans & programme updates
• Contractual changes
• Coordination of sub-contractors
• Issuing early warnings / compensation events
• Communicating with commercial team to control budgets & track costs

Experience required:
