Elvet Recruitment is proud to be working with a forward-thinking property and energy management company who are looking for a Finance Manager for their office in the North East

What You’ll Be Doing:

Perform daily bookkeeping using Xero (or similar) – data entry, reconciliations, posting invoices, and bank statements

Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns in compliance with HMRC

Coordinate and submit monthly payroll to external accountants

Liaise with accountants, landlords, and suppliers to ensure timely payments

Support month-end financial reporting and ad-hoc account queries

Help maintain financial controls, documentation, and process improvement

Assist with compliance admin (e.g. energy/gas safety certificates, service charges) as needed
What We’re Looking For:

Proficiency in Xero accounting software (or strong aptitude to learn)

Solid experience in VAT returns and routine bookkeeping

Familiarity with payroll process coordination

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication skills—for both internal teams and external partners

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid/remote setup
Role Details:

£25K–£35K, depending on experience
