Elvet Recruitment is delighted to be partnering exclusively with CECA North East to appoint a driven and dynamic Business Support Manager to join their team in a newly created, high-impact role within their North East office.
CECA North East represents leading civil engineering contractors across the region and plays a key role in shaping the future of infrastructure, skills and industry standards in the North East. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of their Annual Business Plan, aligned to five Core Pillars covering Sustainability, Careers & Recruitment, Skills & Training, Clients & Workload, and Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
Reporting directly to the Director / Company Secretary, with engagement across the Chairman and Management Board, this role will be central to ensuring strategic initiatives are delivered with energy, coordination and impact.
As Business Support Manager, you will be at the forefront of initiatives that strengthen the future of civil engineering in the North East – particularly across Careers & Recruitment and Skills & Training.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting activities and initiatives across all five Core Pillars, with a key focus on Careers & Recruitment and Skills & Training
- Supporting the Foundations Group (Junior Board) including:
- Educational outreach activities
- Delivery of the annual College Bursary Programme
- Associated events and social value initiatives
- Driving region-wide talent pipeline initiatives, including:
- Promoting CECA member job opportunities (work experience, apprenticeships)
- Supporting programmes such as Skills Bootcamps
- Amplifying industry opportunities across appropriate channels
- Designing and delivering engaging social media campaigns and marketing materials to attract new entrants into civil engineering
- Assisting in the planning, administration and marketing of:
- Online events
- Face-to-face events
- Training courses (Legal/Commercial, Health & Safety, Social Value & Sustainability)
- Client engagement events such as “Meet the Buyer”
- Supporting the planning and delivery of CECA’s Annual Dinner & Awards Evening
- Engaging with a broad range of stakeholders including:
- Members and Associate Members
- Sponsors
- Training providers
- Schools, Colleges and Universities
- Providing general business and office support including:
- Attending meetings and taking minutes
- Report writing and maintaining action logs
- Handling enquiries and answering telephone queries
- Working within project teams, taking responsibility for elements of project management including scoping, planning, monitoring and reporting outcomes
- Supporting wider organisational development across Marketing, Advertising, PR, Media, Social Media, Research and Direct Marketing
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting information to groups
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms
- Experience supporting events from planning through to delivery
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a positive, friendly and professional approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight timescales
- Desirable Experience:
- Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns to increase brand visibility and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to create engaging digital and social media content using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge or experience within the construction or civil engineering sector
Role Details & Benefits:
- Full-time hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
- Friday: 9.30am – 4.00pm
- 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Salary: Flexible depending on experience
