Our client is a well-established and respected civil engineering business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services across the region. Operating from a busy site environment, the company works across a range of infrastructure and construction-related projects and continues to grow through repeat business, long-standing client relationships, and a commitment to delivering excellent service.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an Office Administrator to join their friendly and hardworking team. This is a varied and hands-on role that will support the day-to-day running of the office, working closely with operational staff, suppliers, customers, and management to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of a busy office through a variety of general administrative duties
  • Preparing and processing outgoing mail, including labelling and franking
  • Managing incoming telephone enquiries and making outbound calls where required
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers, and employees regarding schedules, job allocations, and product specifications
  • Maintaining and updating internal systems daily, ensuring all information is accurately recorded
  • Providing ongoing support to colleagues and management across different areas of the business
  • Operating the weighbridge system, weighing vehicles, and issuing delivery tickets (training can be provided)
  • Checking waste transfer notes and accurately recording information for waste returns
  • Coordinating repairs, servicing, and maintenance requirements with manufacturers and external providers
  • Scanning, uploading, and electronically filing company documentation
  • Assisting the accounts department with invoice checks, rate verification, and related administrative tasks
  • Helping to ensure the office operates efficiently by supporting additional administrative duties when required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience within an Office Administrator or similar administration role would be advantageous
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or Customer Care is desirable but not essential
  • Experience using Sage and/or weighbridge systems would be beneficial, although full training can be provided
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when handling data and documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain organised and work effectively within a fast-paced office environment
  • A professional and approachable manner when dealing with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • A reliable, proactive, and hardworking attitude with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Due to the location of the site, candidates must have access to their own reliable transport

Role Information:

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (40 hours per week)
  • Occasional Saturday work may be available
  • Competitive salary (DOE)
