Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well-established house builder in the North East.

Whether you're a recent college or university leaver, or someone looking to take the first step into Quantity Surveying, this role offers the chance to learn from experienced professionals whilst receiving ongoing support through both on-the-job training and further education.

Joining an established Commercial team, you'll gain exposure to all aspects of the Quantity Surveying function, developing the skills and knowledge required for a successful career within house building.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with cost control and budget management
• Supporting subcontractor procurement and tender enquiries
• Producing and maintaining commercial reports
• Assisting with valuations and payment processes
• Supporting cost forecasting and financial monitoring
• Learning contract administration and commercial procedures
• Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors on live developments

The Ideal Candidate

• An interest in Quantity Surveying, construction, or the house building sector
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Strong numeracy and problem-solving ability
• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally
• Full UK driving licence or willingness to work towards obtaining one
